This original illustration composed of Pigma Micron archival pens with a dash of color from Copic markers.
Nothing more than a toere, its player patutiki/tatau markings in the background is derived from a hei (kaki ‘ima) that is meant to protect the drummers hands as well as bond with his counterparts (Fa’akete, Pahu Tupa’i, and Tari Parau illustrations coming soon)…. because a drummer without his hands might as well ori - haha!
